Transparency Starts with Names
Every article on 1A carries a byline. Some pieces are authored by individual writers; others are signed 'Editorial Team' when the work emerged from collaboration or was assembled from verified reporting. We believe readers have a right to know whose argument they are reading. No pseudonyms, no hidden hands. Your author's name is their accountability.
Editorial Team Bylines
When 'Editorial Team' appears, it signals one of two scenarios: either multiple voices contributed meaningfully to the piece, or we assembled it from existing quality reporting and verified it against primary sources. The collective byline acknowledges teamwork without obscuring individual contribution. What matters is that the work is scrutinized and stands behind its claims.
Who Writes Here
Each author on 1A has a declared focus. Some specialize in network politics and digital sovereignty; others cover media literacy, cultural critique, or the economics of attention. These focus areas reflect editorial judgment: we curate who writes about what. This isn't hidden: it's core to how 1A operates as signal against noise.
Editorial Stance
The editorial line shapes everything published here. You'll find it expressed through our authors' byline pages, our topic selection, and our refusal to hide behind false balance. We believe strong curation requires visible editorial judgment. This is the opposite of anonymous authority. Here, reputation and position are visible and verifiable.
