A day for editorial substance

Curated 2026 is 1A's flagship annual conference, convening independent thinkers, editorial professionals and network architects. The day centres on the paradox of curation: how human judgment, expertise and taste scale across networks without gatekeeping, surveillance or algorithmic capture.

Programme format and structure

The conference pairs keynote talks with workshop conversations in small groups. Each session explores one dimension of independence: editorial integrity, reader agency, cross-border networks, sustainable economics and the future of curated platforms. Attendees engage directly with speakers and peers instead of passive spectatorship. Capacity is limited to preserve depth and conversation quality.

Who should attend

Editors, journalists, publishers, product builders and researchers working on curation, digital independence or network literacy. No prerequisites: curiosity about substance-over-scale is the entry point.
