The Format Question
1A exists in the gap between shallow scrolling and information overload. Our format choices reflect this tension: can we be both precise and deep? Your vote shapes the answer.
Short pieces work when clarity is paramount. They force discipline: no filler, only the essential insight. A 2000-word essay can meander; a 500-word piece cannot. The constraint is the feature.
Long-form allows room to breathe, to build an argument layer by layer. Some topics deserve this space. A profile, a system analysis, an investigation: these resist brevity. We skip them if we only publish short.
The mix honors both. It's not a compromise: it's a principle. Different stories need different shapes. By offering all three, 1A stays true to what matters: the work itself, not a preset format formula.
